I think Dedguy's protrayal of UNICOR is spot on.
Except for the bit where he says Tamish and synapse didn't have the knack of handling TPS.
They did but by the time things came to a head, the euro guys of Falcon (those who formed Equilibria), usually had to log out 'cause it was too late.

Quote: Alot of what Dedguy said -is- true. But some i have to disagree with. This is not in any way all EV's fault, but, as Karl said, Unicor is an alliance formed with too heavy a base of 'carebears'.
Aye.
It gets annoying when you're trying to have an organised camp/trap and you have several noob's too scared to lose a BS who turn up in frigates and haven't even equipped a webber or warp-jammer. That was the single most frustrating part of being in UNICOR - a lot of dedicated and very good pvp'ers had to put up with some incredibly noobish players.
It is symptomatic of EV, to be honest. I'm not trying to knock EV (much) but their habit of hiring new inexperienced players and dragging them to 0.0 (because 0.0 is safer for EV considering the number of wars they have) to be part of some grand alliance was their downfall in SA and I think its their downfall in UNICOR.
Too many of EV's new recruits aren't capable of being self-sufficient in 0.0 and ended up relying on the experienced players to babysit them.
In the end, experience won the game and thats why TPS have been so successful and, no doubt, is why so many players defected - they got sick of fighting with n00bs.
